Following the previous episode on time tracking (Episode #092), Steve refers to real-life examples of tracking staff's time to demonstrate the advantages of doing this and responds to an online troll who was tempted out from under their internet bridge.
Far from being a bind to your staff, time tracking is an efficient way of freeing their time from low-value tasks to more exciting and lucrative jobs which make you more money and keep them happier in your employment.
Steve’s new and very first troll on TikTok believed that time tracking was about companies saving money. Apart from the standard trolling swears and insults, Steve agrees! Time tracking is all about saving money, but not quite in the way Mr Troll means.
By tracking individual tasks, you can identify those that take time to complete and remove any work block. This can free up your staff from hours of unnecessary low-value tasks and save time and money.
If you do not track time and have basic timesheets, you will never know where improvements are needed or tasks that could be streamlined along the process.
Tracking targets are beneficial, but targets can only be reached with the information that time tracking can provide.
