What is outsourcing? Why do we do it, and how to do it right?
Steve details how you can improve or get started on your outsourcing while avoiding common pitfalls, myths, and mistakes that can plague your efforts.
What should you outsource, why does it need outsourcing, and how can you go about doing it? He uses the example of social media to clarify what is required when outsourcing your everyday tasks.
You don’t have to hand over a task for outsourcing completely. You can slowly build up your outsourcing with the help of a general assistant or existing team, task by task.
Rather than produce layers of social media content, you can better spend time producing one quality piece and promoting that to its fullest extent. You can use one piece of content in various forms to produce more different kinds.
Make sure you utilise your time at its highest value for your tasks. Outsource everything else, and then you will be giving your best to your best tasks, utilising your skills to the most efficient extent.
‘Because I believed I had to get it all done, all outsourced to make it effective, I never really got anywhere.’
Rather than me thinking, “Ok, how can I do more?” I just decided to say, “Ok, how do I do less myself but keep the same amount going out?”’
‘You create one piece of content, or that may be a collection of pieces of content all around one subject, so you only have to think about it once and plan it once. I’m recording a video, but I’m also recording audio here, and I’ve also made some notes, and we are going to make some posts in the near future.’
‘In our first year, we hit almost 10,000 downloads in 61 different countries, and I’m pretty proud of that.’
